GLOVERSVILLE - Gloversville High School art students will auction off original artwork to benefit the James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society on Wednesday at the Fulton-Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Since October, art students in Deborah Deming and Jason Harrod's art classes have been making original works inspired by the animals at the Brennan shelter, a news release said.
In the fall, the students visited the shelter to take pictures of and spend time with the animals. The students then made artwork of the animals.
Money raised from the silent art auction will benefit the shelter.
The auction is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. at the chamber building at 60 N. Main St.
Works made with watercolors, pastels, acrylics, scratchboards, ceramics and other media will be for sale.
Refreshments will be served.
The event is open to the public.
