Judith "Judy" A. Richtmyer, age 65, of Gloversville, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at her residence.
She was born on October 7, 1948, a daughter of the late Leon Briggs and Irma Houser Briggs.
Judy was a Class of 1967 graduate of Johnstown High School. Mrs. Richtmyer was a self-employed housecleaner for many years. She was a member of the Gloversville Women of the Moose.
She is survived by three sons, Bart Richtmyer of Gloversville, John L. (Shirlee) Richtmyer Jr. of Gloversville and Robert (Cheri) Richtmyer of Canajoharie; two brothers, Timothy Briggs of Broadalbin and William L. Briggs of Gloversville; six sisters, Betty Bentley of Georgia, Kathy Van Hoesen of Broadalbin, Shirley Ostrander of Gloversville, twin sister, Janice St. Louis of Fort Plain, Rosemary Carter of Fonda, Jacqueline Fox of Gloversville and Cheryl Palumbo of Johnstown; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Judy was predeceased by her husband, John L. Richtmyer Sr., whom she married on December 18, 1971, and he passed on January 2, 2008; two brothers, Jeffrey Briggs and Leon "Butch" Briggs; and one sister, Joan Viola Rowback.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2014, at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 East Main Street, Johnstown, with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating.
Visitation for friends and family will be on Thursday prior to the service from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Inurnment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
