JOHNSTOWN -A woman involved in passing counterfeit cash more than a year ago was sentenced Thursday in Fulton County Court to 60 days in the county jail.

Jerry Ann Mandl, 49, of 127 County Highway 131A, also was ordered by Judge Polly A. Hoye to pay a $1,000 fine and restitution as part of a plea arrangement.

Mandl was charged by Johnstown police Dec. 7, 2012, with first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. Police said Mandl passed $140 in counterfeit cash to another person. The Secret Service was brought in to help with the local investigation.

Mandl was indicted by a county grand jury July 15 and pleaded guilty Nov. 7.
