GLOVERSVILLE - Police said officers arrested a teen Sunday morning after he intentionally threw himself into the path of an oncoming truck earlier this month.

Gary A. Lenz, 16, of 411 Glebe St., Johnstown, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor, and a traffic citation for "pedestrian unsafely leaving the sidewalk to enter roadway."

According to police, Lenz walked into the roadway of East State Street near the entrance of Nathan Littauer Hospital on Dec. 11.

Police said he intentionally threw his body into the path of an oncoming pickup truck, damaging the hood. An arrest warrant was issued and Lenz was arrested near his home in Johnstown.

He was arraigned in City Court and released on his own recognizance.
