JOHNSTOWN - The city government union representing Department of Public Works and Water Department employees has a new three-year contract with raises ranging from 2.5 to 3 percent.
The Common Council approved the new contract with the local Civil Service Employees Association union Monday after an executive session conducted at City Hall. The CSEA previously ratified the deal.
City Treasurer Michael Gifford said Tuesday the union's current agreement expires Dec. 31. The new bargaining agreement includes a 3 percent raise for 2014, and 2.5 percent raises for both 2015 and 2016.
