E. Michael Heagle

E. Michael Heagle, 56, passed away, Saturday, December 14, 2013 peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a brave fight with cancer.

Mike was a loving husband, father and pa. There is nothing more he loved than spending time with his grandkids and instilling in them his love for flying. His generosity and kind heart were known throughout the community. Mike will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Mike was born in Gloversville, NY to the late George Heagle and Jenny Muscto Heagle of SC. He graduated from Johnstown High School in 1976, where he wrestled and was well known on the football field. Mike married his high school sweetheart Lynn Holland Heagle; they celebrated 34 years together in May. He owned and operated Heagle's Furniture in Johnstown, NY for 20 years, which has now been passed down to his daughter Jamie and son-in-law Jason.

Mike loved to fly and was member of the FoCo Flyers Club for 10 years. He also enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and going to the Casino with his buddies. He was a die heart Dallas Cowboy fan and a member of the Johnstown Moose.

Mike is survived by his wife Lynn, daughter and son-in-law Jamie & Jason Kohout his beloved grandchildren Jack & Julianna all of Johnstown; his mother Jenny; siblings Deborah Givis (Mark) of Johnstown, Cindy, and Joseph (Cyndi) both of SC ; also his paternal aunt Georgiana Edwards of Johnstown. Mike was predeceased by his Uncle Charles, grandmother Lilian Heagle, grandfather Everett Heagle, and dog Shadow.

Cremation took place at Leatherstocking Crematory, Cherry Valley, NY. As per Mike's wishes there were to be no funeral services.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Johnstown Moose Club, 109 South Comrie Avenue, Johnstown, NY 12095 or Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.
