Seven arrests made in county narcotics probe

AMSTERDAM -The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office announced seven arrests resulting from a six-month investigation into the illegal sale of narcotics throughout the county.

State Police, Amsterdam Police Department, St. Johnsville Police Department, and Montgomery County District Attorney James "Jed" Conboy also assisted the sheriff's office during the investigation.

The following suspects were charged, arraigned in court and remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail:

Antonio Aponte, 38, of 373 Locust Ave., Amsterdam -felony third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, heroin.

Monica Bonet, 33, of 373 Locust Ave., Amsterdam -felony third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, heroin.

Cara DeAraujo, 30, 6 Chestnut St., Amsterdam - misdemeanor fourth-degree conspiracy.

Scott B. Dunbar, 33, currently incarcerated Montgomery County Correctional Facility -felony third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, heroin.

Scott M. Lathers, 37, of 6316 Route 10, town of Canajoharie - felony third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, pills.

Joshua Leach, 30, of 6 Chestnut St., Amsterdam -felony third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, suboxone.

Joseph T. Palmeri, 30, of 432 Eaker Road, town of Palatine - felony third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, heroin.
