Girls Basketball Roundup: Mayfield rallies for win over Middleburgh

MAYFIELD - After falling behind 14-2 after one quarter, the Mayfield girls basketball team outscored Middleburgh 53-32 over the final three quarters to post 55-46 non-league win Wednesday.

Julie Hampton connected on four 3-pointers on her way to a 20-point effort to lead Mayfield (2-1 overall, 2-1 WAC North), while Alex Sheldon finished with 18 points. Kaylee Bumpus added 10 points for the Lady Panthers.

Amanda Roney scored 21 points to lead Middleburgh, while Carley Ryan added 15 points.

CANAJOHARIE - Abby Boyer scored 26 points to lead Fort Plain to a Western Athletic Conference North Division win over Canajoharie.

The Lady Hilltoppers trailed 16-5 after one quarter and 32-30 after three quarters before outscoring Canajoharie 20-9 in the final quarter to earn the win.

Haley Kilmartin finished with 11 points for Fort Plain (2-2 overall, 1-1 WAC North).

Jenelle Dillenbeck and Dainara Veeder each had 10 points for Canajoharie (3-2 overall, 2-1 WAC North).

Fort Plain will host Galway on?Friday, while Canajoharie will travel to Saratoga Central?Catholic on?Friday. Both games are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.

HERKIMER - Hannah DeLude scored 18 points, leading Herkimer to a win over Dolgeville.

DeLude also had four steals and three assists for the Magicians (3-1 overall).

Chelsea Jory scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Herkimer, while McKenzie Pine had 11 points and seven rebounds.

Jackie Bange scored 16 points to lead Dolgeville (2-2 overall, 0-2 CSC), while Emilie Lewandowski and Matina Mouyos each had eight points.

Dolgeville is scheduled to travel to?Little Falls on Monday for a 7:30 p.m. contest.

WELLS - The Wells girls basketball team had its game at Indian Lake-Long Lake postponed due to the weather.

No make-up date has been announced for the game.
