FORT?PLAIN - The Fort Plain Volunteer Fire Department has received a $5,000 grant from the Adam & Nellie Horn Foundation.

According to a news release from the department, the funds will be used toward purchasing a utility-style fire trick.

"The [department] has been saving money and working with village officials to hopefully purchase this truck in 2014. Money has been saved over the past three years from grants and fundraisers to assist the village with this purchase," the release said.

According to the release, the new truck would replace the current 1995 Chevrolet Brush truck.

To donate toward the truck purchase, call the department at 993-4271.
