Carl R. Ward Sr. passed away Thursday, Nov., 21, 2013, at home, surrounded by his family.
Born on Aug. 6, 1932, in Gloversville, he was the son of the late Clarence Ward and Mildred Buhotz Ward. He worked at Coleco Industries until his retirement. He was married to his beloved wife, Malvina, for 59 years and they resided in Mayfield until his death. He enjoyed woodworking in his garage, watching the Yankees, spending time with his family and friends and his dog, Yager.
Besides his loving wife, Carl is survived by his children, Carl L. Ward, Debra A. Kohout, Brenda J. Ward, Robin E. Kronk, Brian S. Ward; his sister, Audrey Rivenburgh; several loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Dale A. Ward; brothers and sisters, Dorothy Coons, Clarence Ward, Beatrice Veeder and Ida Chamberlain.
His wishes were for his body to be donated to Albany Medical College. There will be no viewing hours at his wishes. He will be loved and missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
