BROADALBIN -A convicted felon from Essex County has been arrested by Fulton County sheriff's deputies, accused of illegally taking deer and illegal firearms possession.

Deputies said Jason L. Dillenbeck, 38, of Crown Point, was charged after a traffic stop at 11:50 a.m. Nov. 17. He was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Deputies said they observed his vehicle with a deer that was untagged in his trunk. An investigation found he possessed three illegally taken deer, as well as firearms, which convicted felons are not allowed to possess, deputies said.

The state Department of Environmental Conservation was notified and found several more illegally taken deer in Danube, Herkimer County.

Dillenbeck was issued an appearance ticket for Town Court. He was then turned over to DEC officers for arraignment in Herkimer County.
