Common?Core just big biz

November 25, 2013
The Leader Herald

I recently attended a Common Core meeting in Gloversville aimed at the elementary school level. I left feeling sad, frustrated and scared. I can understand teachers are afraid of speaking out for fear of reprisal given that this country no longer appears to be a democracy. But I was extremely disheartened by the seemingly brainwashed words of the administration. One in particular kept saying that it was "good stuff." While I previously respected her opinions, I have to wholeheartedly disagree. This is not "good stuff."

This is not an educational initiative. This is big business at it's most manipulative and diabolical best. At the very heart of this is the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This is a brilliant business plan for how to succeed and prosper into the next generation and beyond. They are skillfully laying the foundation for our children to become their choiceless consumers.

There was one turn of phrase at the meeting that I found quite telling. It was that the children would become accustomed to the Common Core. One can become accustomed to a great many things, if need be. I refuse to accept that my child will become accustomed to being a cog in the machine of big business, all in the name of greed.

It's time for our nation to wake up. Complacency will destroy us all. Nikita Khrushchev said, "We will bury you from within." If he were still alive he would be so proud. It's time for all of us to wake up and see the forest for the trees.

Shame on all of you who blindly promote this agenda.
