BROADALBIN - The local Operation Christmas Child Project is collecting gift-filled shoeboxes.
The shoeboxes will be collected again today from 1 to 4 p.m. The donations can be dropped off at the Sacandaga Bible Conference Center.
Boxes are filled with small toys, clothing, hygiene items and school supplies. They will be sent to children living in war-torn or impoverished areas worldwide.
The Broadalbin collection center expects to receive more than 8,000 boxes. Anyone can donate. The effort is part of the Samaritan's Purse international relief project called Operation Christmas Child.
