Thanks to the residents of Gloversville and Johnstown and the Price Chopper Tools for Schools Drive in September, hundreds of children returned to school with needed supplies. The generous donations were distributed by The Salvation Army to scores of families in upstate New York communities where Price Chopper is located.
We applaud the strong community involvement of Price Chopper and its commitment to help those in need.
Another Salvation Army-Price Chopper partnership is the annual Red Kettle Campaign and Toy Drive from Nov. 11 to Dec. 14. Within a few weeks, Salvation Army volunteers will be ringing bells at Price Chopper stores.
I invite community residents to volunteer to ring bells during the kettle campaign and to support the toy drive by donating toys in bins located in each store. Donations in each community support Salvation Army programs and services to local families.
