BINGHAMTON - The Fulton-Montgomery Community College men's basketball team defeated previously unbeaten Broome Community College in a nail-biter that went down to the wire Sunday. The Raiders prevailed, 89-88.
The Hornets jumped out to an early lead of 20-10, but the Raiders fought and sprinted their way back to take a one-point lead late in the first half. However, Broome led 41-37 at the break.
FM retook the lead early in the second half and stretched its advantage to 84-72 with 2:27 left to play.

Broome put on an astonishing run of scoring from behind the arc and thwarting FM. The Hornets closed the gap to 89-88 with 1.2 seconds on the clock, but the Raiders held on for the win.
The 1-1 Raiders will host Cayuga Community College on Saturday at 3 p.m.
That event will include a special honoring of veterans.
