NORTHVILLE - Leah Junquera is displaying her oil paintings at the Sacandaga Valley Arts Network's art exhibit in the Northville Public Library at 215 W. Main St.

Her work will be on display through Dec. 30 during library hours.

There will be a reception Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Originally from Northville, Junquera is working on her bachelor of fine arts degree at Plattsburg State University with a concentration in painting and sculpture.

Junquera has exhibited her paintings all over New York state.

In a news release, she said, "My work is a tribute to the past. These memories and moments dance around what has been forgotten and left behind. The structural references in my work relate to the strong figures who have raised me. There is power inherent to the architectural forms I translate, but they have been worn by the weight of time. Every generation has a shift in values and morals. Through my art I seek to understand my own."
