GLOVERSVILLE - A parolee and member of the Bloods street gang was arrested Thursday after he was found driving a rental car without a valid drivers license, city police said.

Anthony "Smurf" Smith, 31, of 105 N. Arlington Ave., was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor.

Police said officers observed Smith operating a rental vehicle in the city and stopped him. Officers then verified that Smith's license was not valid resulting in him and his girlfriend, Cassandra LaRock, being detained until it was verified they had permission to use the vehicle.
