AMSTERDAM - Seven city residents were arrested after police seized drugs, firearms and cash while executing two search warrants Wednesday while investigating investigations into marijuana and cocaine sales.
Police said one warrant, for an apartment at 65 Bunn St., was executed at 5:30 a.m., while arrest warrants were executed at two other locations.
Four suspects were charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance: Alan "Piff" Shaw, 33, of 65 Bunn St., 1st floor; Anton Ross, 50, of 22 Bunn St.; Dorothy Rogers, 50, of 22 Bunn St.; and Nygee Roby, 20, of 34 Glen Ave.
Each was held for arraignment in City Court.
A fifth subject, who was wanted for criminal sale of a controlled substance, was not located.
The State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Amsterdam Police and Montgomery County Sheriff's Department's Regional SWAT Team assisted. The search was the culmination of a three-month investigation into cocaine sales in the city, police said.
Police also executed a search warrant on the first floor of 16 Pine St. after a two-month investigation into marijuana sales.
Thomas Bradascini, 21, of the same address, was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of stolen property and criminal possession of marijuana.
Police said more than $1,500, 8 ounces of marijuana and a .32-caliber revolver, which was reported stolen during a burglary in 2012, were found.
During the same investigation, two were charged with drug possession. Joseph T. Shaffer, 20, of 109 Grand St., was charged with criminal possession of marijuana. Corey Sumpter, 20, of 13 Trinity Place, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
Bradascini was held for arraignment in Amsterdam City Court. Shaffer and Sumpter were released on appearance tickets.
