Two charged in hunting probe

MAYFIELD - Two Gloversville men were charged after an investigation into illegal deer hunting.

According to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Todd M. Harwood, 35, of Gloversville, and Steven D. Olsen, 34, also of Gloversville, were charged after an investigation with the help of New York State Police.

DEC police said Harwood was charged with three counts of illegally killing a deer, three counts of possessing a pistol while muzzle-loader hunting and exceeding the bag limit for deer. Harwood was charged with three violations of hunting deer over bait.

State police assistance resulted in a felony charge of criminal possession of a weapon against Harwood, authorities said.

Olsen also was charged with felony criminal possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of a large-capacity ammunition clip and illegally growing marijuana.

Both men were remanded to Fulton County Jail in lieu of bail.
