Handy leader city needs

October 28, 2013
By MARCUS FRANKLIN , The Leader Herald

I am writing to lend my support to James Handy as the next mayor of Gloversville. Mr. Handy's years of experience on the city council, being a co-founder of RailFest, his ability to work not only with members of the council, but also with department heads, employees, unions and other local elected officials more than qualifies him to be a strong leader and caring individual as CEO of our city.

Mr. Handy is a man of integrity, honesty and morality. Citizens and taxpayers can be assured our city will be administered with their best interests in the forefront.

Gloversville does matter to him, as he is a lifelong resident and a taxpayer. I believe he will do his utmost in exploring ways to increase revenue, bringing about tax relief. He will work diligently with the Common Council to promote our city to bring in businesses, providing much needed jobs. I also believe Mr. Handy will be open to suggestions and ideas for the betterment of Gloversville.

Mr. Handy is aware of and shares concerns with the citizens regarding public safety and he will endeavor to ensure that our police and fire departments are staffed to meet the needs of our citizens.

I urge you to vote for James Handy on Nov. 5. He is the leader this city needs.
