Jeffers will bring fresh ideas into office

October 25, 2013
The Leader Herald

The city of Johnstown Republican Committee would like to hereby officially announce its endorsement of Scott Jeffers for the office of mayor in the city of Johnstown.

Mr. Jeffers is currently a member of the Johnstown Water Board and has held several positions in the Johnstown and Fulton County Republican committees, including city chairman, vice chairman, and member of the county executive committee.

Mr. Jeffers has singled out a number of issues important to the citizens of the city of Johnstown, including public transit, blight, civic involvement and, of course, economic development.

He has been active as a coach in Johnstown as a modified and varsity-level track and field throwing instructor. He is an active supporter of Johnstown youth sports, a member of the Fulton County YMCA, and is a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1575. His educational background includes graduating from Johnstown High School with a regents diploma in 2002 and a master's degree in education from the State University of New York at Cortland in 2007.

We believe that Mr. Jeffers is a strong candidate because of his loyalty to the city, educational background, experience in politics and fresh ideas.

RICHARD HANDY, and the Johnstown City Republican Committee
