Amsterdam blanked by Scotia-Glenville

WELLS - The host Indians scored all three goals in the second half on their way to a 3-0 shutout win over sixth-seeded Westport in the Section VII Class D quarterfinals Thursday.

Adrian Collado scored twice for third-seeded Wells (12-1 overall), while Matt Michienzi scored once.

Ken Chicoski had two assists for the Indians, while Seth Weaver and Nick Taylor each had one assists.

Ben Brenan made seven saves to post the shutout win in goal for Wells.

Sam Napper made eight stops for Westport.

Wells will travel to second-seeded Elizabethtown-Lewis on Monday for a 3 p.m. semifinal contest. The Lions posted a 2-1 win over seventh-seeded Crown Point on Thursday.

Section II Class A First Round

Scotia-Glenville 2, Amsterdam 0

SCOTIA - Mike Palleschi headed home a corner kick from Owen Fingar early in the first half and Michael Fraioli scored an unassisted goal with 10 minutes remaining to propel seventh-seeded Scotia-Glenville past Amsterdam and into the Class A quarterfinals.
