As chief of Northampton Ambulance Service, I recently found out what it is like to be on the other end of emergency medical services?- I was the patient.
Through what was a scary, potential threat to my life, I was able to get through everything because of a team of individuals I have worked with as an EMS provider and not the patient. I would like to start off with a thank you to the community individuals who played a key role in getting help to my side. I also would like to thank Northampton Ambulance Service, the Northville Fire Department and the Ambulance Service of Fulton County for your quick response to my rescue. It can be a very nerve-racking experience to work on one of your own, but you remained calm and worked like a well-oiled machine.
On my arrival to Nathan Littauer Hospital, the nursing staff was quick to assess me and see to it care was provided efficiently and hardly left my side. I was then transferred to Ellis Hospital, where, again, I was met by a great group of doctors and nursing staff who were supportive during my recovery. The ongoing support from family, friends and community members has been amazing. I am continuing in my efforts to improve each day and look forward to a full recovery. I could not be where I am without each member of these groups being a part of my life. Thank you.
