CROP walk helping local food pantries

October 20, 2013
The Leader Herald

On Sept. 29, Johnstown Reformed Church hosted the annual CROP walk to raise money for world hunger and local food pantries. CROP stands for Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty. More than $7,000 was raised for world hunger and local food pantries. Twenty-five percent of the donations will be donated to food pantries in Johnstown and Gloversville; that's $1,700 being donated to the food pantries in Johnstown and Gloversville.

A special thank you to Doris Stewart and Jack Schreivogl, a sister-and-brother duo who together collected a combined donation total amounting to nearly half of the donations received this year.

Thank you to everyone who supported this year's CROP walk.

SARAH DYKEMA
