Girls Soccer Roundup: Lady Bills rout Hudson Falls, 11-0

JOHNSTOWN - Kendra McCoy finished with two goals and one assist, powering Johnstown to an 11-0 win over Hudson Falls in a Foothills Council girls soccer contest Friday at Johnstown High School.

The Lady Bills led 6-0 at the half on their way to the win.

Ellen Praught scored twice for Johnstown (7-7-1 overall, 6-7-1 Foothills), while Morganne Dick had a goal and two assists. Megan Anagnostopulos posted a goal and an assist for the Lady Bills, while Diana Horning, Sara Kosowicz, Jordyn Hale, Abby Bobbette and Tatum Sardella also scored. Kaitlyn Pica, Mallory Baldwin, Ciara Solby and Michaela Brandow each had an assist for the Lady Bills.

Briana Esposito made two saves to post the shutout win in goal for Johnstown.

Maddie DeRidder finished with 16 saves for Hudson Falls (0-14 Foothills).

Queensbury 10, Gloversville 0

QUEENSBURY - Brittany LaPlant scored seven times to push her season total to 66 goals as Queensbury rolled past Gloversville.

LaPlant's total set a new state record for goals in a single season. She also had an assist for the Spartans who improved to 16-0 overall and 14-0 in Foothills Council play.

Emily Chester had a goal and two assists for Queensbury, while Micaela O'Mara posted a goal and an assist.

Jill Davis also scored for the Spartans, while Claire Hubbs and Aleya Rodriguez each had two assists. Midge Loiselle added an assist for Queensbury, which outshot Gloversville 43-6.

Sarah O'Brien made six saves to post the shutout win in goal for Queensbury.

Gloversville slipped to 4-11 overall and 4-10 in Foothills Council play with the loss.

Scotia-Glenville 3, Broadalbin-Perth 0

SCOTIA - Gracie Mailey finished with two goals and an assist, leading Scotia-Glenville to a shutout win over Broadalbin-Perth in a Foothills Council contest.

Abby O'Connor had a goal and an assist for the Lady Tartans (11-3 Foothills), while Kelsey Martin added an assist.

Carina Moran made four saves to post the shutout win in goal for Scotia-Glenville.

Rachel Orapello made eight saves for Broadalbin-Perth (13-3 overall, 11-3 Foothills).

South Glens Falls 4, Glens Falls 0

GLENS FALLS - Gabrielle Kreppein scored twice for South Glens Falls in a shutout win over Glens Falls.

Bryndelyn McNeary and Lauren Vetter also scored for the Bulldogs. Shannon Curley, Emily Herren and Shannon Keenan each had an assist for South?Glens Falls.

Vanessa VanGuilder made four saves to earn the shutout win in goal for South Glens Falls (7-6-1 Foothills)

Demi Vanderhayden made 15 stops for Glens Falls (2-12 Foothills).

WAC

Canajoharie 11, Galway 0

CANAJOHARIE - Jenelle Dillenbeck finished with four goals and an assist, powering Canajoharie to a shutout win over Galway in a WAC North Division contest.

Morgan Koelbl scored twice for the Lady Cougars, while Bri Slater finished with a goal and three assists. Ariannah Logan and Jordyn Logan each posted a goal and an assist for Canajoharie, while Jordan Hammons and Brittany Pitonza also scored. Morgan Gray added an assist for the Lady Cougars.

Lauren Balfe and Andrea Dingman combined to make three saves to share the shutout win in goal for Canajoharie (13-3 overall, 10-1 WAC). Balfe also had an assist for the Lady Cougars. Lindsey Naughton made 13 saves for Galway.

Middleburgh 6, Sharon Springs 1

SHARON SPRINGS - Amanda Roney finished with two goals and two assists for Middleburgh in a win over Sharon Springs.

Carley Ryan posted two goals and an assist for the Knights, while Taylor Cater had a goal and two assists. Aleesha LeRuiz also scored for Middleburgh, while Lyndsey McCoy added an assist.

Savannah Olsen scored the lone goal for Sharon Springs on an assist from Samantha Jackson.

Kiera Morgan finished with five saves for Middleburgh (8-4 WAC), while Alexis VanArsdal posted eight stops for Sharon Springs (1-11 WAC).

Big 10

Catholic Central 5, Amsterdam 0

AMSTERDAM - Madison Purcell finished with two goals and two assists, leading Catholic Central to a shutout win over Amsterdam.

The Crusaders clinched the Big 10 title with the victory.

Alexis Riffelbach had two goals and an assist for Catholic Central (16-0 overall, 8-0 Big 10), while Kelsey Moss also scored.

Lauren Paravella made nine save to post the shutout win in goal for Catholic Central.

Cassandra Robataille made 26 saves for the Lady Rams (10-4 overall, 6-2 Big 10).

Non-league

Northville 1, Mayfield 0

NORTHVILLE - Mary Ryan scored the game's only goal in the second overtime, lifting Northville to a win over Mayfield.

Taylor Fancher made two saves to post the shutout win in goal for Northville (7-9 overall), which outshot Mayfield 11-2 and finished with a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Megan Frasier made 10 saves for Mayfield (2-14 overall).

West Canada Valley 3, Fort Plain 0

NEWPORT - Danielle VanName, Shania McEvoy and Taylor Zaino scored, leading West Canada Valley to a shutout win over Fort Plain.

Morgan Lynch added an assist for the Indians.

Kara Pepin made four saves to post the shutout win in goal for West Canada Valley.

Mackenzie Stevens made 20 saves for Fort Plain (0-15-1 overall).
