Boys Soccer Roundup: Wolves cap grueling week with win

GALWAY - Playing for the fourth time in as many days - all on the road, the Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville boys soccer team posted a 4-2 win over Galway in a Western Athletic Conference North Division contest Friday.

Johnny Vicciarelli, Trent Barker, Dylan Trent and Tristan Engle each scored for the Wolves.

Devan Battisti and Ezra Lynch each had an assist for Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville, which is 5-1 in its last six contests.

Nate Trumbull made four saves to earn the win in goal for the Wolves, who finished the regular season with a 10-5-1 overall record and a 10-5-1 in WAC play.

Mayfield 3, Fort Plain 1

MAYFIELD - Todd Briggs scored twice, leading Mayfield to a WAC North Division win over Fort Plain.

Josh Ivancic added a goal and an assist for the Panthers (10-4-2 overall, 10-4-2 WAC), while Matt Telfer added an assist.

Aiden VanLoan scored the lone goal for Fort Plain (4-12 overall, 4-12 WAC).

Lucas VanNostrand made six saves for Mayfield, while Robert Thomas made three stops for the Hilltoppers.

Middleburgh 4, Duanesburg 0

MIDDLEBURGH - Austin Roney finished with a goal an two assists, leading Middleburgh to a shutout win over Duanesburg in a WAC South Division contest.

Nick Righi had a goal and an assist for the Knights, while Brody Smith and Eli Wynia also scored. Mark Camp added an assist for Middleburgh.

Austin Smith made four saves to post the shutout win in goal for Middleburgh (7-5-1 WAC).

Zach Wissenbach made 14 saves for Duanesburg (4-9-2 WAC).

Berne-Knox-Westerlo 6, Sharon Springs 1

BERNE - Maclin Norray scored twice, lifting Berne-Knox-Westerlo to a win over Sharon Springs in a WAC South Division contest.

Tate Repscher had a goal and an assist for the Bulldogs, while Sam Abbott, Brad Ableman and Greg Gustafson also scored. Cody Fisher and Jimmy McGill each had an assist for BKW (12-1-1 WAC).

Trevor Haack made five saves to earn the win in goal for the Bulldogs.

Schoharie 3, Mekeel Christian 2

SCOTIA - Devon Brooks, James Sacket and Will Vedder scored to lead Schoharie to a win over Mekeel Christian Academy.

Bruce Hall and Jordan Ahlquist scored for Mekeel Christian (3-11-1 overall).

Justin Montione made eight saves for Schoharie, while Zach D'Errico made eight stops for Mekeel Christian.
