JOHNSTOWN - A Gloversville driver was ticketed after his car damaged the Eagles Club tent and a parked car Saturday night, police said.

Police said James P. Luft, 33, of 30 Second Ave., was unhurt in the accident at 9:06 p.m. Saturday in the Eagles Club parking lot on South William Street. He was later ticketed for unsafe backing and leaving the scene of an accident, police said.

Police said Luft was backing in the lot when his car struck a parked car registered to Robert L. Morse, 7 Collingwood Ave., Johnstown. Police said Luft then left the area.

Luft and his vehicle were found at his residence, and he was intoxicated, police said.

Police Chief Mark Gifford didn't return phone calls this week seeking comment on the incident.
