Restaurant inspections not local work

October 18, 2013
The Leader Herald

I would like to respond to Mr. Clifton Thompson's question regarding restaurant inspections in Fulton County.

Fulton County Public Health is a partial service health department, which means that it does not provide environmental services. Restaurant inspections are performed by the Herkimer District Office of the New York State Department of Health. As the District Office also is responsible for inspecting establishments in Herkimer and Montgomery counties, they have an extensive catchment area.

Concerns about restaurant standards or inquiries about ratings should be addressed to the Herkimer District Office.

DENISE FREDERICK, Retired head of

Fulton?County Public Health
