Man burglarized homes, police say

CANAJOHARIE - A man who was thought to have fled the state was arrested after a monthlong investigation, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.

Brandon M. Sealey, 20, was arraigned on counts of second-degree burglary and petit larceny.

Deputies said sealey burglarized two separate homes and is suspected of burglarizing a third, stealing narcotic pills and cash.

Deputies said they originally believed Sealey had fled the area to North Carolina.

However, deputies said, a tip indicated he was at a residence in Fort Plain, where he was picked up. Deputies said Sealey confessed after questioning.

Sealey was arraigned in Village Court and sent to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.

The Canajoharie and Fort Plain police departments assisted with the case.
