FMCC volleyball swept by Herkimer

JOHNSTOWN - The Fulton-Montgomery Community College women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Herkimer County Community College on Wednesday.

The Generals won by scores of 25-21, 25-20 and 25-19.

Johnstown graduate Brynn Hlozansky had 24 digs and 15 kills for Herkimer, while Dolgeville graduate Ashley Mettler posted 13 digs, 12 kills and two aces. Johnstown graduate Zara Hyde had 12 assists, 10 digs and five kills for the Generals.

Whitney Ostrander posted 11 kills and nine blocks for FMCC, while Sarah Wyzomirski registered six kills and three blocks. Elizabeth Hayward had 15 digs, five kills and two blocks for the Lady Raiders, Shelbey Lyons posted 17 assists and eight digs and Emily Robinson finished with 15 digs, five kills and two blocks. Caitlyn Hayward added 22 digs for FMCC, Taylor Wetsky finished with six digs, five blocks and two kills and Gabrielle Hale added six digs.

Herkimer (18-9 overall) and FMCC (9-10 overall) will travel to SUNY Adirondack for pod play on Saturday at 9 a.m.
