Mohawk Harvest hosted its fourth annual Harvest Dinner on Sunday and what an evening it was. We had one of the largest crowds ever for this local foods celebration, and the reviews of the elegant event have been glowing.
The success of this truly gourmet evening goes to many. The magic for our taste buds was created by Jim Rose of Wine and Roses Restaurant in Broadalbin; Aaron Katovich of the Table Restaurant in Fort Plain; the Intrabartolas of the Inn at the Bridge in Northville and Deena Sisco of Chick and Hen Baking Company. Thank you for transforming our local bounty into its most delicious forms.
The newly renovated Lexington Center in Johnstown was a gorgeous venue for this event and thanks go to their leadership; you are truly 21st-century visionaries.
Thanks go to the nearly 90 ticket buyers who gave us their appetites and lent so much energy to the evening and to our mission. Many of you have already expressed excitement for next year, and that means so much to us.
I especially want to thank all our local producers since you create the food at the center of the local agricultural economy and work endless hours under uncertain conditions to feed so many people. From Dharma Lea Beef in Sharon Springs to Duncraven Dairy in Stone Arabia, your businesses are a blessing to us all.
Lastly, I want to thank the Mohawk Harvest employees and volunteers for your dedication to making this dinner a success. The proceeds this year contribute to the building of a new kitchen at Mohawk Harvest, which will expand our culinary and educational impacts in the community. We cannot wait to get started building this winter.
