Paul A. Dwyer Sr., of Mayfield, passed away on October 5, 2013, after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family. Paul was born January 12, 1930, in Johnstown, New York, son of Francis and Amelia Striker Dwyer. Paul attended the Johnstown City School District. In 1946, he went on to serve in the U.S. Army Paratroops, 11th Airborne, including three years in the Pacific Threatre. After returning home from the military, he began his career in trucking. He was employed as a driver at Thyme and Peters Oil Transport. In 1958, he moved on to be part of the transportation division of Coleco Industries, continuing on there to be Vice President. After retiring from Coleco in 1984, he founded his own trucking company, G. Dwyer & Sons Trucking & Leasing. Paul continued to drive and be part of the trucking industry throughout his life.
