Mrs. Marion L. Gifford De La Fleur, age 85, of Johnstown, died Friday evening, October 4, 2013, at St. Johnsville Nursing Home.
She was born April 5, 1928, in Edinburg, N.Y., one of twelve children born to the late Claude D. Gifford and Myrtle J. Putman Gifford. She was a graduate of Gloversville High School. A floral designer for many years, she worked at Danker Florist of Albany, Colonial Flower Shoppe of Johnstown, Marylou's Flowers of Fultonville and Peck's Flowers and Lohse Florist of Gloversville.
Mrs. De La Fleur was an active member of the Foothills United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, choir, Wesleyan Circle and the former Couples Club. She and her husband were also members of the Sacandaga Swingers dance group.

Survivors include: her husband of 65 years, John S. De Le Fleur of Johnstown; two children, Lorraine D. Smith (Richard Ballou) of Gloversville and Mark R. De La Fleur (Rosemary) of Gainesville, Fla.; three sisters and a brother, Betty Richardson of South Glens Falls, Clark P. Gifford (Carrie) of Gloversville, Shirley J. Estes (Harold) of St. Johnsville and Sally A. Brenner of Gloversville; two granddaughters, Heidi West and Hillary Fitzpatrick; four great-grandchildren, John L. Reese, Austin J. Reese, Zoe Fitzpatrick and Paige Fitzpatrick; several nieces and nephews.
Marion was predeceased by four sisters and three brothers, Helen Shilling, Doris Grant, Donald Gifford, Vernon Gifford, Charles Gifford, Patricia Maher and Barbara Gifford.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, October 8, at Foothills United Methodist Church, 17 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a funeral service will follow at noon, with the Rev. Edward A. Hackett Jr. officiating.
Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
