H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Lady Bills outlast Queensbury, 3-2

QUEENSBURY - Annie Stock finished with 25 digs, 20 kills and five blocks, leading Johnstown to a 3-2 win over Queensbury in a Foothills Council volleyball match Friday.

The Lady Bills won by scores of 25-21, 25-23, 16-25, 18-25 and 25-23.

Bri O'Rourke posted 10 kills, five blocks and three aces for the Lady Bills (10-0 Foothills), while Jerica Holland had 22 assists, 10 digs, six kills and four aces. Alyssa Nellis finished with 23 digs, seven kills and five blocks for the Lady Bills, Morgan Catania had 21 assists and 11 digs, and Madison Smrtic added 19 digs.

Kristen O'Connor had 37 digs and six aces for Queensbury (7-3 Foothills), while Katelyn Ripley posted 25 kills and 14 digs. Mara Bureau finished with 12 kills and two blocks for the Spartans and Stephanie Gengel added 43 assists and 15 digs.

Broadalbin-Perth 3, South Glens Falls 2

SOUTH GLENS FALLS - Chelsea Leblanc finished with 11 kills and five blocks, lifting Broadalbin-Perth to a Foothills Council victory over South Glens Falls.

The Lady Patriots won by scores of 19-25, 25-18, 24-26, 25-16 and 25-19.

Zoe Simonson had seven kills and two blocks for B-P (8-3 overall, 7-3 Foothills), while Keyana Fariello had 30 digs.

Gloversville 3, Glens Falls 0

GLENS FALLS - Christina Pavlovsky posted eight assists and five aces, helping Gloversville sweep Glens Falls in a Foothills Council match.

The Huskies won by scores of 25-14, 25-17 and 25-10.

Jenna Putnam finished with seven assists, seven aces and four kills for Gloversville (10-3 overall, 7-3 Foothills), while Katlyn Pierce had six kills. Lizzie Peak recorded two blocks for the Huskies, and Shawna Funk added three kills and three digs.

WAC

Fort Plain 3, Middleburgh 0

MIDDLEBURGH - Shawna Cotton finished with 10 service points, four assists, four digs and three aces, leading Fort Plain to a sweep of Middleburgh on Thursday.

It as the fifth straight victory for the Lady Hilltoppers, who won by scores of 25-16, 25-17 and 25-16.

Emily Potter posted six service points, four digs, three kills and two blocks for Fort Plain (8-4 overall, 7-4 WAC), while Cheyann Walters had 10 service points, four aces and three digs.

Brandy Walters finished with four service points and three assists for the Lady Hilltoppers, Kasey Mang had two points and two blocks, Alexis Hagadorn posted three kills, and Anganese Gomez recorded four service points, four aces and two kills.

Galway 3, Schoharie 0

GALWAY - Emily Orminski finished with 11 points five aces, five kills and five assists, leading Galway to a sweep of Schoharie.

The Golden Eagles won by scores of 25-9, 25-13 and 25-13.

Brittany Orminski posted seven points, five kills, four digs and four aces for Galway (12-0 overall, 11-0 WAC), while Rachel Jones had nine points, seven kills and three aces. Emily Zawisa added six kills, three digs, two points, two aces and two blocks for the Golden Eagles.

Rebecca Stevens had five points, three kills and three blocks for Schoharie, while Emily Pieniazek posted seven points and four assists.
