Gloversville man had cocaine: police

October 5, 2013
The Leader Herald

GLOVERSVILLE - City police said the arrest of an Amsterdam woman Thursday also led to the arrest of a man who had cocaine.

Rosemarie J. Ross, 25, of 221 Route 67, Amsterdam, was charged with petit larceny after she attempted to steal merchandise from the Dollar General on North Main Street, police said.

However, police said, Ross was in the store with Michael D. McDonald, 28, of 52 First Ave., who was searched during the investigation. Officers found 3.7 grams of cocaine in his possession, police said.

McDonald was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and also was wanted on a City Court bench warrant for failure to complete conditional discharge.

Capt. of Detectives Anthony Clay said McDonald also was charged with false personation, a misdemeanor, for providing a false name when officers first interviewed him.

Ross was released on an appearance ticket.

McDonald was arraigned in City Court and sent to the Fulton County Jail on $15,000 cash bail and $30,000 bond.
