H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Fonda-Fultonville sweeps Watervliet in Colonial Council match

FONDA - Shawna Trigg finished with 19 service points and 11 aces, powering Fonda-Fultonville to a 3-0 win over Watervliet in a Colonial Council volleyball match Thursday at Fonda-Fultonville High School.

The Lady Braves won by scores of 25-5, 25-20 and 25-10.

Miranda Nethaway posted eight kills and five blocks for Fonda-Fultonville, while Cory Lais had six service points and three aces.

Mekeel Christian 3, OESJ 2

SCOTIA - Mekeel Christian won a see-saw battle with Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville on game scores of 19-25, 25-19, 20-25, 28-26 and 25-19.

Gladstonya Greenwood led the Lions with 13 service points, five kills and two blocks, while Kackenzie Islip had 15 service points and 10 aces.

Jordan Spawn had six kills, two blocks and seven service points, while Victoria Alteri had three kills, nine service points and two aces and Clare Nelson added four kills, seven service points and four aces for Mekeel Christian.

Shamin Flanders led the Wolves with six kills, six digs and five aces, while Kyleigh Hayner had three kills, 12 digs and seven aces. Shelbey McCumber added four aces, seven digs and seven assists and Kendell Sweeney contributed five digs, eight assists and an ace.

Saratoga Catholic 3, Berne-Knox-Westerlo 1

SARATOGA SPRINGS - Elle Valentine finished with 17 service points, eight assists and four aces to lead Saratoga Central Catholic to a win over Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

The Lady Saints won by scores of 25-18, 25-19, 22-25 and 25-16.

Emily Miller posted nine service points, five digs and four aces for Saratoga Catholic, while Kaylie Fish had nine service points and three assists. Liza Orsini added nine digs, seven kills, four service points and three aces for the Lady Saints.

Shannon Stone recorded 18 digs, nine kills, five aces and four blocks for Berne-Knox-Westerlo, while Michaela Horlacher posted 15 assists, 12 digs and four aces. Julia Hilton finished with six aces and two blocks for the Bulldogs, and Makayla Wright added four blocks and two kills.

Mayfield 3, Schoharie 1

SCHOHARIE - Kaylee Bumpus had 15 kills and five blocks to help the Lady Panthers improve to 9-1 in the WAC on game scores of 25-13, 23-25, 25-9 and 25-22.

McKenzie Biggers added 18 service points and 15 assists, while Jordan Marshall had eight kills and Miranda Egan added five kills, eight assists and 25 service points.

Gabrielle Danthine had eight kills and three blocks for Schoharie. Emily Pieniazek added 13 points, while Grace Gathen had five kills.

Big 10

Bishop Gibbons 3, Amsterdam 0

AMSTERDAM - Annie Riley had 11 service points, three aces and four kills to lead Bishop Gibbons to the league win on socres of 25-9, 25-11 and 25-13.

Jennifer Cerutti had 14 service points, while Emily Brown had 19 assists and Paris Jarrell had six kills.

Destiny Smith led Amsterdam with three kills.
