Mr. Donald P. Rorick, age 78, of Gloversville, died Wednesday, October 2, 2013.
He was born October 11, 1934, in Amsterdam, the son of the late William and Helen Ralbovsky Rorick. He was employed by General Electric Company of Schenectady for 35 years, retiring in 1995 as a welder.
Don was an avid New York Yankees baseball fan. He also enjoyed bowling and fishing. In his younger years he raced stock cars at Fonda Speedway.

He was a member of the Fulton County Sheriff's Association.
Don was married on July 20, 1974, to Rose M. Gallup, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Brenda M. Place and Melissa Ann Rorick, both of Gloversville; a brother, Robert A. Rorick (Carol Ann) of Gloversville; six grandchildren, Heather Green, Joshua Green, Kelly Rorick, Lacy Rorick, Joelle Keire and Jacob Rorick; four great-grandchildren, Willow Rorick, Brooklyn Heath, Kylee Keire and Savannah Keire; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Also surviving is his goddog, Daisy Duke, whom he loved dearly.
He was predeceased by a brother, William Rorick Jr.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 5, at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Bonnie Orth officiating. Cremation will follow at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady.
