Work on?Route 5 to being today

MOHAWK - The state Department of Transportation announced in a news release that construction work to repair sections of Route 5 will begin today.

According to the release, work will begin today to make permanent repairs to 3,100 feet of Route 5 that was damaged by the June 26 CSX train derailment.

The work, taking place between Martin Road and the Kateri Shrine, will continue until the end of November, the release said.
