Allen playing for Utica volleyball

UTICA - Dolgeville graduate Lora Allen, a sophomore on the Utica College women's volleyball team, helped the Pioneers earn a split on the second day of the Wildcat Classic at SUNY IT on Saturday.

Utica defeated D'Youville College, 3-2, winning by scores of 16-25, 14-25, 25-11, 25-19 and 15-11.

In their second match, Utica lost 3-0 to Alfred State by scores of 25-20, 25-17 and 25-18.

Allen had 13 assists for the Pioneers.

On the first day of the tournament Friday, Utica defeated Cazenovia and lost to SUNY Canton.

Against Cazenovia, the Pioneers won by scores of 25-11, 23-25, 25-12 and 25-20. Allen had 25 assists for Utica.

Utica lost 3-1 to SUNY Canton by scores of 25-12, 25-18, 20-25 and 25-8.
