Herkimer volleyball goes 3-0 at MVCC

UTICA - The Herkimer County Community College women's volleyball team went 3-0 during pod play at Mohawk Valley Community College on Saturday.

In the first match, Herkimer won 3-1 over Onondaga Community College by scores of 25-20, 22-25, 25-17 and 25-22. Johnstown graduate Brynn Hlozansky had 11 digs, 10 kills and five aces for the Lady Generals, while Dolgeville graduate Ashley Mettler had nine kills, seven digs and three aces. Johnstown graduate Zara Hyde added 34 assists, 10 digs and two blocks for Herkimer.

In the second match, Herkimer swept Jefferson Community College by scores of 25-14, 28-26 and 25-14.

Hlozansky had 10 digs, seven kills and two aces, Mettler had 10 kills and nine digs, and Hyde posted 30 assists, 15 digs and two aces.

Against Cayuga Community College, the Lady Generals won 3-0 by scores of 25-12, 25-13 and 25-15. Hlozansky had eight digs and four kills, Mettler had five kills and Hyde had 28 assists, five kills and three digs.

Herkimer (12-3 overall) will host SUNY Adirondack on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
