Support for library evident

October 1, 2013
The Leader Herald

On Sept. 22, the Friends of the Gloversville Public Library held its seventh annual fundraiser, "Celebrating the People of the Adirondacks." The program included a raffle of 23 baskets and two mega-baskets as well as a silent auction.

The event was held to raise funds for the completion of the library's window-replacement project, and it was chaired by Lynn Kicinski and Betsy Batchelor.

There were more than 100 people in attendance, all there to show their overwhelming support for one of Gloversville's most valuable assets - our wonderful Carnegie library.

The Friends would like to extend their sincere thanks to all those who, in any way, contributed to the success of this event.

JEAN LaPORTA, president,

Friends of the Gloversville Public Library
