Mrs. Ruth Brumaghim Trzaskos, 85, formerly of Amsterdam, passed away early Friday morning, September 27, 2013, at Palatine Nursing Home, Palatine Bridge.
Born May 12, 1928, in Gloversville, she was the daughter of the late William and Lydia (Slack) Brumaghim.
In her early years she was employed as a clerk at a local laundry and eventually became the manager of the facility. Following her marriage Ruth was a homemaker.
She enjoyed gardening. Ruth was a talented artist painting, drawing and sketching. She also kept meticulous journals of her daily experiences.
She was married to John Trzaskos, who passed away on June 9, 1998.
Besides her parents and husband, Ruth was predeceased by her brothers, Milton, Victor, Harold, Guy, Paul Brumaghim and William McCaffrey.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 30, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. Friends are invited to call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
