Ronald C. Parslow, 75, of Fish Mountain Road, Lake Pleasant, died Wednesday, September 25, 2013, unexpectedly at home. He was born in Mineville, N.Y. on July 24, 1938, the son of the late Robert and Lucy Parslow Slack.
Ronald was a United States Navy veteran serving from 1956 to 1960. He married Sonja Malmberg on December 16, 1961. He was employed as the assistant manager of the Hamilton Lake Lodge, retiring in 1997.
He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and attended the Lake Pleasant United Methodist Church. He was an exempt member of the Speculator Fire Department and served as a deputy for the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department for twenty years.
Survivors include his wife, Sonja Parslow of Lake Pleasant; four daughters, Tonia L. (Richard) Ammerall of Waxhaw, N.C., Rhonda L. (Todd) Laurent of Lake Luzerne, Tamara D. (Alex) Maitland of Lake Pleasant and Kimberly L. (Barrie) Byrne of Speculator. Six grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive him.
Friends may call on Thursday, October 3, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lake Pleasant United Methodist Church, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Fish Mountain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Speculator Fire Department or the Lake Pleasant or Grace United Methodist Church. Arrangements are by the Northville Funeral Home.
