James W. Jaikin Sr., 65, of Salisbury, N.Y., passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, September 25, 2013.
He was born on August 19, 1948, in Little Falls, N.Y., a son of the late Peter and Cora (Strait) Jaikin. James was educated at Stratford Central School.
On May 24, 1969, James was united in marriage to Artimisha Ann Belden at the Assembly of God Church in Salisbury, N.Y. They shared an overabundant amount of blessings during their union of 44 years. Their greatest blessings and ultimate achievements were raising their three children with unconditional love, guidance, mutual respect, and support.
James W. Jaikin Sr.
James "Jim" was formerly employed as a construction worker, laborer and machine operator for several construction companies until his retirement in 2010.
He was of Methodist faith. He enjoyed going to the Amish auctions with his wife where they had many times of laughter with friends, buying, selling and trading goods. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, making apple cider, and building things. Most of all he enjoyed the quality time he spent with his children and grandchildren, the lights of his life. He was a member of the Salisbury Fire Department, S & S Ambulance, the Dolgeville Rod and Gun Club and the National Rifle Association.
James was a family oriented man. His most precious time was spent in the company of his wife, children and grandchildren. James gave selflessly to his family and friends. He had an essence for life and anyone that crossed his path felt genuinely respected by him and he loved people. He and his wife saw the importance of instilling values and tradition within their family. James will be greatly missed by his family, friends and community.
