H.S. Volleyball Roundup: B-P wins sixth straight

SCOTIA - Chelsea LeBlanc finished with nine kills, leading Broadalbin-Perth to a 3-0 sweep of Scotia-Glenville in a Foothills Council volleyball match Wednesday.

The Lady Patriots won by scores of 25-6, 25-12 and 25-9.

Maddie Gurga had eight kills for B-P (6-2 overall, 5-2 Foothills), which has won six straight matches.

Keyana Fariello added 17 digs for the Lady Patriots.

Jena Samson had seven service points and three kills for Scotia-Glenville, while Nicholle Teerlinck posted 20 digs.

WAC

Mayfield 3, Saratoga Catholic 0

SARATOGA SPRINGS - Kaylee Bumpus posted 11 kills, four service points and three digs, leading Mayfield to a sweep of Saratoga Central Catholic.

The Lady Panthers won by scores of 25-13, 25-22 and 25-18.

Miranda Eagan finished with five kills and five assists for Mayfield (7-2 overall, 7-1 WAC), while Bri Eagan had nine digs and eight points. Bailey Ward recorded six points and four kills for the Lady Panthers, Mackenzie Biggers had six points, and Kiera Davis added five points and five aces.

Elle Valentine recorded six points, three aces and three assists for Saratoga Catholic (3-4 overall, 3-4 WAC), while Emilie Brownell posted eight points and four aces. Emily Miller had five digs for the Saints, and Anna Leone added seven digs.

Fort Plain 3, Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville 1

ST. JOHNSVILLE - Shawna Cotton finished with eight aces, five assists and two digs, leading Fort Plain to a win over Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville.

The Lady Hilltoppers won by scores of 25-22, 25-13, 18-25 and 25-16.

Emily Potter recorded seven digs, three kills and two aces for Fort Plain (4-4 overall, 4-4 WAC), while Brandy Walters finished with five digs and two kills. Anganese Gomez added two kills and two aces for the Lady Hilltoppers.

Katie Pabis posted 10 kills for Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville (1-7 overall, 1-7 WAC), while Kyleigh Hayner had six kills and three aces. Shamrin Flanders recorded four blocks and four kills for the Lady Wolves, while Shelbey McCumber added seven assists.

Berne-Knox-Westerlo 3, Middleburgh 0

BERNE - Kathryn Salo finished with 12 digs and six kills to lead Berne-Knox-Westerlo to a sweep of Middleburgh.

The Bulldogs won by scores of 25-13, 25-23 and 25-13.

Michaela Horlacher posted 18 assists, 11 digs and seven aces for BKW (6-6 overall, 3-5 WAC), while Shannon Stone finished with 10 digs, six kills and five blocks. Makayla Wright had six kills and four blocks for the Bulldogs, and Christina Grippin hade eight aces and seven digs.

Sonny Dickerson posted five kills and five aces to lead Middleburgh.

Duanesburg 3, Schoharie 2

DUANESBURG - Rachel Gamache finished with 12 kills to lead Duanesburg to a win over Schoharie.

The Eagles won by scores of 21-25, 25-15, 25-18, 24-26 and 25-20.

Tori Dykstra had 11 kills and 12 service points for Duanesburg (3-5 overall, 3-5 WAC).

Grace Gathen posted nine kills and two aces for Schoharie (6-3 overall, 6-2 WAC), while Emily Pieniazek added 17 service points.

Colonial Council

Voorheesville 3, Fonda-Fultonville 0

VOORHEESVILLE - Fonda-Fultonville slipped to 7-2 overall and 7-2 in Colonial Council play following a loss to Voorheesville.

The Blackbirds won by scores of 25-19, 25-13 and 25-19.

Miranda Nethaway had seven points, three blocks and two aces for Fonda-Fultonville.
