Field Hockey Roundup: Lady Bills blank Bulldogs, 3-0

JOHNSTOWN - Mikaela Etherton finished with a goal and an assist to lead Johnstown to a 3-0 win over South Glens Falls in a Foothills Council field hockey game at Knox Field on Tuesday.

Johnstown led 1-0 at the half before sealing the win with two second-half goals.

Nicole Bentley and Kelsi Barnholt also scored for the Lady Bills (6-1 overall, 5-0 Foothills), while Hope Cerasuolo had two assists.

Kristin Wright made three saves to post the shutout win in goal for Johnstown.

It was the fifth shutout of the season for the Lady Bills.

Michaela Regner finished with 20 saves for South Glens Falls.

Johnstown is scheduled to travel to Scotia-Glenville on Thursday for a 4:30 p.m. contest.

Glens Falls 8, Gloversville 1

GLOVERSVILLE - Cheyenne Randall scored three goals to lead Glens Falls to a Foothills Council win over Gloversville.

Stephanie Eddy had two goals and an assist for the Indians, while Monica Harvey also scored twice. Hayley Coons added a goal and an assist for Glens Falls.

Janelle Nellis scored the lone goal for Gloversville.

Olivia Southworth made one save for Glens Falls, which outshot the Huskies 20-2.

Bailey Pieniazek made 17 saves for Gloversville (1-8 overall, 1-4 Foothills)

On Saturday, Gloversville dropped a 4-0 decision at Ichabod Crane in a non-league contest.

Angelina Yearwood scored twice for Ichabod Crane, while Jenna Smith and Haley Good also scored. Katie Burke, Mary O'Flaherty and Maria Funk had assists for the Riders.

Pieniazek made 17 saves for Gloversville, which is scheduled to host Queensbury next Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. in a Foothills Council contest.

Scotia-Glenville 7, Hudson Falls 0

HUDSON FALLS - Ashley O'Neil scored twice and had an assist to lead Scotia-Glenville to a shutout win over Hudson Falls in a Foothills Council contest.

Alison Stuart, Megan Murdock, Amanda Kot, Skylar Plemenik and Haley Cooper also scored for the Lady Tartans.

Plemenik, Taylor Coons, Lily Holcombe and Katelyn McGlauflin each had an assist for Scotia-Glenville.

Naudia Smith earned the shutout win in goal for the Lady Tartans, who earned their first win of the season.
