H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Gloversville outlasts Mayfield, 3-1

MAYFIELD - Jenna Putnam had 26 assists, nine kills and three aces to lead Gloversville to a 3-1 win over Mayfield in a non-league volleyball match Tuesday.

The Huskies won by scores of 33-31, 22-25, 26-24 and 25-11.

Christina Pavlovsky had 11 assists for Gloversville (7-1 overall), while Ana Kroup posted seven kills. Chelsey Biasini finished with nine kills for the Huskies, Katlyn Pierce had 16 kills and Shawna Funk added nine digs.

Jordan Marshall was 14-for-14 from the service line for Mayfield, finishing with 11 kills, eight digs and seven service points. Miranda Eagan posted seven kills and seven assists for the Lady Panthers, while Bailey Ward registered nine points, seven kills and six digs. Mackenzie Biggers finished 14-for-14 from the service line and had 19 assists, 14 digs and 10 points for Mayfield (5-2 overall). Kaylee Bumpus added a 19-for-19 service effort, 11 points, 10 kills, 10 digs and two aces for the Lady Panthers.

Mayfield will travel to Saratoga Central Catholic today for a 5:30 p.m. contest, while Gloversville will host Johnstown at 6 p.m. today.

Canajoharie 3, Mekeel Christian 0

SCOTIA - Shyanna Logan finished with 23 service points, 11 aces, seven kills and two digs, leading Canajoharie to a sweep of Mekeel Christian Academy.

The Lady Cougars won by scores of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-20.

Abbey Dearwester had 14 assists for Canajoharie (8-1 overall, 8-1 WAC), while Madeline Cole posted seven service points and four aces. Frankie Nare added seven kills for the Lady Cougars.

Jacqueline Cummings had 11 service points and two kills for Mekeel Christian (0-8 WAC), while Mackenzie Islip recorded 11 points and two aces. Clare Nelson added nine points and two aces for the Lions, while Victoria Alteri added four kills.
