BROADALBIN - Members of the Broadalbin-Perth Education Foundation will unveil the first engraved brick face that is part of the foundation's Brick Campaign today at 5:45 p.m. at the auditorium entrance of Broadalbin-Perth High School.

Foundation members also will present the organization's first grant to intermediate school teacher Rita Swatt, a news release said.

The foundation is raising money to support its mission of promoting, sponsoring and expanding educational opportunities in the community by selling personalized brick faces that will be affixed to the facade of Broadalbin-Perth schools. Brick faces can include up to two lines of text with up to 18 characters on each line (including spaces). Each brick face costs $100, and patrons can choose the school building where their brick will be mounted.

The first brick face in the foundation's campaign is in memory of Dawn Hochsprung, the principal of Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown,?Conn., who lost her life during the December 2012 tragedy. Hochsprung was one of the Education Foundation's first donors, a news release said.

Patrons can order bricks through the Education Foundation's website - www.bpeducationfoundation.org - paying by check or via PayPal.
