H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Lady Bills sweep Glens Falls, 3-0

GLENS FALLS - Jerica Holland finished with seven aces, two digs and two kills, leading Johnstown to a 3-0 sweep of Glens Falls in a Foothills Council volleyball match Friday.

The Lady Bills won by scores of 25-7, 25-7 and 25-11.

Annie Stock had three digs, two aces and two kills for Johnstown (4-0 overall, 4-0 Foothills), while Rachel Hansen posted four aces. Bri O'Rourke added six service points, one kill and one block.

Gloversville 3, South Glens Falls 0

SOUTH GLENS FALLS - Jenna Putnam had 10 assists, seven kills, three aces and three blocks, lifting Gloversville to a sweep of South Glens Falls in a Foothills Council match.

The Huskies won by scores of 25-18, 25-20 and 25-21.

Katlyn Pierce had 12 kills and four blocks for Gloversville (5-0 overall, 4-0 Foothills), while Christina Pavlovsky had five assists. Chelsey Biasini added three kills for the Huskies.

Broadalbin-Perth 3, Hudson Falls 0

HUDSON FALLS - Keyana Fariello finished with 12 digs and three aces to lead Broadalbin-Perth to a sweep of Hudson Falls in a Foothills Council contest.

The Lady Patriots won by scores of 27-25, 25-18 and 25-18.

Chelsea LeBlanc registered six blocks and five kills for B-P (2-2 overall, 2-2 Foothills), while Zoe Simonson added six kills.

Mayfield 3, Duanesburg 0

MAYFIELD - Bailey Ward had a season-high 10 kills, leading Mayfield to a sweep of Duanesburg.

The Lady Panthers won by scores of 25-13, 25-20 and 25-16.

Mackenzie Biggers had nine service points and two digs for Mayfield (4-0 overall, 4-0 WAC), while Ashley Madeiros finished with six points and five assists. Miranda Eagan had seven service points for the Lady Panthers, Kaylee Bumpus posted seven kills and three aces, and Alex Sheldon added three kills.

Rachel Gamache recorded 10 kills, three points and two blocks to lead Duanesburg, while Tori Dykstra and Katy Dunn each had four points. Rebecca Kosinski added two blocks for the Eagles.

Canajoharie 3, Saratoga Catholic 1

CANAJOHARIE - Shyanna Logan finished with 14 service points, nine aces, eight kills and three digs, leading Canajoharie to a Western Athletic Conference win over Saratoga Central Catholic.

The Lady Cougars won by scores of 26-24, 25-13, 18-25 and 25-14.

Abbey Dearwester had 11 assists and six kills for Canajoharie (4-1 overall, 4-1 WAC), while Emma Stortecky posted 11 assists. Shelby Mead had 14 points, six kills, five aces and one block for the Lady Cougars, and Madison Herrick added five digs.

Elle Valentine had seven service points for Saratoga Catholic, while Kaylie Fish had nine points and four assists. Emilie Brownell added eight points and two aces for the Lady Saints.

Fort Plain 3, Berne-Knox-Westerlo 0

FORT PLAIN - Cheyann Walters finished with 18 service points, seven aces and two kills, leading Fort Plain to a sweep of Berne-Knox-Westerlo in a Western Athletic Conference match.

The Lady Hilltoppers won by scores of 25-15, 25-15 and 25-15.

Shawna Cotton had six assists, five points and three aces for Fort Plain (2-2 overall, 2-2 WAC), while Brandy Walters posted four assists, four points and three kills. Emily Potter added three kills and six digs for the Lady Hilltoppers, and Angalese Gomez finished with four digs.

Kathryn Salo had 14 digs and three kills for Berne-Knox-Westerlo, while Michaela Horlacher had six assists and three aces.

Shannon Stone added 14 digs, six kills and two aces for the Bulldogs, and Anna White posted eight digs, six kills and two aces.
