Police, school look into threat

September 10, 2013
The Leader Herald

GLOVERSVILLE -The Gloversville Enlarged School District on Monday said city police investigated a report over the weekend of a female student being harassed online.

According to a notice on the school district website, a student reportedly was harassed via social media platform Snapchat in a way that potentially threatened her safety and that of others while at school. Police continue to investigate, but school officials said the threat was not deemed credible.

The district statement indicated classes and activities remained as scheduled Monday. As a precaution, the district said it was taking additional steps to ensure students' safety, such as having a patrolman periodically walk the halls of Gloversville High School.
